Salisbury, North Carolina is a city steeped in the past, but with a bright eye focused on the future.  Incorporated in 1755, Salisbury was the major trade center and largest city in western North Carolina. Situated in the lovely Piedmont region, two wagon trails converged here, and Salisbury was the final outpost of civilization for many of the pioneers who settled the west.  Today, Salisbury proudly boasts ten different historic districts, all commemorating different areas of its past.

Salisbury is the county seat of beautiful Rowan County, NC .  Rowan County is bordered by the wild and haunting Yadkin River, where Daniel Boone spent many hours fishing; his childhood home is nearby.

Salisbury, NC stands at the crossroads of Interstate 85 and four major US highways, making the city a prime location for business. Only 43 miles from the major international airport of Charlotte, and less than an hour's drive from the commercial airport of Greensboro, Salisbury is situated merely one overnight truck haul from four major seaports.

Due to the ever increasing growth of the surrounding area, Salisbury City leaders are taking great care to  preserve the quality of life in their city.  They have implemented the Salisbury Vision 2020 Comprehensive Plan, to help guide their own expected growth.  Salisbury and Rowan County together have created an Economic Development Commission to attract and support incoming business firms.
